RI Housing $10kDPA
RIHousing’s 10kDPA program provides a $10,000 down payment assistance loan to first-time home buyers in Rhode Island. The program is designed to help eligible first-time homebuyers with what is often the biggest hurdle to homeownership: the down payment.
RI Housing FirstGen Home RI
Helping first-generation homebuyers become the next generation of homeowners. FirstGenHomeRI opens the doors for first-generation homebuyers with $25,000 in down payment and/or closing cost assistance. The FirstGenHomeRI program is a pilot program with limited funds. The funds will be extended on a first-come, first-served basis to qualified homebuyers who have a Loan Commitment and a fully-executed purchase and sales agreement.
RI Housing Extra Assistance Program
RIHousing’s Extra Assistance program provides down payment assistance to eligible first-time homebuyers in Rhode Island. The program is designed to help homebuyers with what is often the biggest hurdle to homeownership: the down payment.
Housing Network of RI
The Housing Network of Rhode Island, in partnership with the City of Providence, provides up to $20,000 of Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance to income-eligible homebuyers purchasing in the City of Providence.
MassHousning – MassDREAMS Program
Get up to $50,000 assistance in MA for down payment and closing cost grants for first-time homebuyers in Massachusetts communities that were hit the hardest by the economic effects of COVID-19.

Each bank or credit union might have its own programs to help Home Buyers secure housing. Some have grants, credits, and other programs like portfolio loans that might help. Call around or visit your local lender and simply ask. Do the legwork, there are some great programs out there!
